Reports and analysis

There are several ways to report on and analyse grants. The grant dashboard gives a quick overview of your grant types. You can find more information through:

• the Find Grants search form
• the Grants tab in advanced search
• the Grant report

Searching for grant data

CiviCRM distinguishes between contacts and grants. Sometimes you need an answer in terms of contacts, such as which contacts were successful grant applicants in 2011. Other times you need an answer in terms of grants, such as how many grant applications you received for your Community Chest this year. Decide whether you are interested in the grant or the contact before searching.

The Find Grants search uses grant data and returns grants. Advanced search can use most grant data alongside other contact information and returns contacts.

These searches provide simple totals. You can also export the results as a .CSV file for further analysis.

Grant reports

CiviCRM comes with one report for Grants. For example, you can use it to show details for all grants of a particular type. The bottom of the report includes aggregated statistics for the amounts requested and granted.
